First UCI race is in 10 days: VIRGINIA’S BLUE RIDGE "GO" CROSS RACE P/B DESCHUTES BREWERY !!!!!
To prep, the barriers made an appearance at our local weekly Dirt Crit course. And a few brave souls dared to dust-off their dismount/remount skills in front of the cameras with me.
Along with the falling of leaves, the shortening of the days, and the proliferation of cheese-wagons (yellow school buses) on the road, comes the start of the cyclocross season!
Big news! I will be racing for Van Dessel Factory Team this season on the Full Tilt Boogie (#ReadytoBoogie)!!! Even bigger news, I've put a few new races on the calendar this year. The U.S. will again have two World Cup races in 2018 - on back-to-back week-ends. And if you are reading this on your phone while waiting in line at the coffee shop in St. Louis, MO, both races are within easy driving distance, Trek CX Cup in Waterloo, Wisconsin Sept. 22 and JingleCross in Iowa City Sept. 29. Easily the best week-end parties for cycling lovers in the US! #GoGetchasum
Locally, check out our very own homegrown SuperPresetigeCX on, Sept. 9 in Alton, IL. Maybe one of the only races in the country where the payouts are deeper for women?!
Two more week-ends left to practice your #bunnyhopthebarriers at the Thursday Night @2TG Dirt Crit Series in a real race scenario.
Also, if you are looking for tips to get you race ready - check out "The Sticky Beans" episode of Bike Shop CX podcast at Wild Angle Podium (and while you're there, become a listener-supporter and support the people who support the sport you love. I did!).
See you at the races!
